The scheduler is where you match trucks and drivers to loads. Drag a truck onto a load and it's assigned — Numeo checks for conflicts as you go and flags any that overlap, so you're not double-booking a truck by accident.

Assign by drag and drop
Assigning is a drag: pick up a truck and drop it onto the load you want it on. Numeo books the assignment and pushes it out — the driver gets a load-assigned notification with the details.
If the truck you're assigning is already committed to another load in that window, Numeo surfaces the overlap and asks you to confirm before it books over it. Nothing gets double-booked silently.
Pair drivers with trucks
Each truck carries its drivers with it. From the "Set Up Your Fleet" quick-assign step, you pair drivers to trucks:

Two drivers per truck covers team operations. Once a truck's drivers are set, assigning the truck to a load assigns the right driver along with it.

Overlap and availability suggestions
When several loads need trucks, Numeo does the first pass for you:
- Smart suggestions recommend which truck fits which load, so you're reacting to a shortlist instead of a blank board.
- Overlap suggestions can be applied in a batch when you're clearing a stack of loads at once.
You stay in control — the suggestions are a starting point, and you make the final call on every assignment.
Driver status keeps bad assignments out
Every driver is active, inactive, or terminated. Numeo uses that status to protect the board:
- Active drivers assign normally.
- Inactive or terminated drivers are blocked from assignment — and that block can't be overridden. A driver who's off the road can't accidentally end up on a load.
When a driver leaves, setting their status (including a termination date) keeps them out of future assignments automatically.
The dispatch board
Assigned loads flow onto your live dispatch board, where you watch them run and track them to delivery. See The ongoing loads board for filters, columns, and load statuses — and Live tracking, ETA, and geofences for how each load tracks itself once it's rolling.
Good to know
- Drivers pull in automatically when you connect your ELD — Numeo can auto-assign them to trucks from the ELD's vehicle data, so you're editing a mostly-built fleet instead of starting from scratch.
