Tracking & ETA

Intermediate

Live tracking, ETA, and geofences

How Numeo One tracks loads live, keeps ETA current with auto-recalc, and detects arrival and departure at each stop.

4 min read

Once your ELD is connected, every load tracks itself. Numeo One follows the truck live, keeps the ETA up to date as the route changes, and marks each stop as arrived or departed on its own — so you're not calling the driver to ask where they are.

Live location

Truck locations refresh every 30 seconds through your connected ELD. If you haven't linked one yet, start with Connect your ELD — tracking runs on that feed.

ETA and auto-recalc

Numeo calculates each load's ETA from the truck's live position to the next stop. The ETA isn't a one-time guess — it recalculates automatically when the truck deviates from the planned route, so the number you're looking at reflects where the truck actually is. As the truck gets close to a stop, Numeo tightens the estimate again.

Geofences: arrival and departure

Every stop has a geofence — a 1-mile radius around it. Numeo watches when the truck enters and leaves that circle to move the load's status without anyone typing it in.

  • Nearby Stop Detection fires the moment the truck first enters the stop's geofence — a heads-up that it's close.
  • Arrival is confirmed once the truck stays inside the geofence for at least 10 minutes. That short wait filters out a truck just passing through, so "Arrived" means arrived.
  • Departure Detection fires after the truck leaves the geofence.

On the load, a "Geofence" countdown shows how long the truck has been sitting inside the stop before arrival is confirmed.

Load statuses

As a load moves, its status walks through:

En Route → Arrived → Completed

Numeo can set these automatically from the geofence, or you can set them by hand when you need to. Each status change is recorded with how it happened — automatically from the geofence, on a schedule, or manually — so you always know whether the board updated itself or someone touched it.

Keep the broker in the loop

You can share a login-free link that shows the broker this same live location and ETA, without giving them an account. See Share a live tracking link with brokers.

Good to know

  • Tracking and status detection run continuously in the background — you don't have to refresh or re-arm anything per load.
  • Arrival, nearby, and departure events can also send alerts to your team, the driver, or the broker. See Driver notifications over Telegram for how those alerts get turned on and routed.
