Spot's profit numbers are only as honest as the costs behind them. Set your truck's real inputs, and every load shows profit and RPM that match your operation — not a generic average.
What Spot uses to figure profit
The profit calculator works from a handful of inputs:
- Rate — the load's pay, pulled from the board.
- RPM — rate per mile.
- MPG — your truck's miles per gallon.
- Fuel $/gal — what you pay for diesel.
- Driver $/mi — driver pay per mile.
- Include deadhead — a toggle that folds the empty miles to pickup into the math (plus the deadhead miles themselves).
The first two come straight off the load. The rest are yours to set — that's what makes the profit color (a threshold-based, healthy-vs.-cautionary shade) mean something for your truck.
Set your numbers
- Open a load so the profit calculator is in view — on the board, or in the Ask Numeo panel.
- Enter your MPG, fuel $/gal, and driver $/mi.
- Flip include-deadhead on if you want the empty miles counted against the load.
- Watch profit and RPM update — the color shifts as the number crosses your threshold.
Good to know
- Deadhead changes the picture. With include-deadhead on, a load that looks fine on line-haul can flip to the cautionary color once the miles to pickup are counted. Toggle it to see both sides.
- These inputs feed the RPM and RPM-plus-deadhead figures Spot shows across the board and in your copy-load blocks.
