Vetting brokers & loads

Beginner

See profit, RPM, and deadhead per load

Numeo Spot shows a load's real profit, RPM, and deadhead using your own truck's numbers, before you reach out to the broker.

3 min read

Before you email a broker, Numeo Spot tells you what a load is actually worth — real profit, RPM, and deadhead — using your own truck's numbers. No spreadsheet, no mental math on the fly.

Set your inputs

Enter your truck's numbers once and Spot does the math on every load:

  • Rate — the broker's posted rate, or your counter.
  • RPM — rate per mile.
  • MPG — your truck's fuel economy.
  • Fuel $/gal — what you're paying at the pump.
  • Driver $/mi — driver pay per mile.
  • Include deadhead — toggle this on to fold your empty miles into the profit, and add the deadhead miles.

Read the color

The profit figure is color-coded against a threshold, so you can scan a board without reading every number:

  • A load that clears your threshold shows in a healthy color — that's a keeper.
  • A load that comes up short shows in a cautionary color — worth a second look before you spend a call on it.

Flip the include-deadhead toggle to see how empty miles change the picture. A load that looks fine on the linehaul can go thin once the deadhead to pick it up is priced in.

Good to know

  • The profit calculator is part of the free core — it's there on the Free plan. Compare plans on the pricing page.
  • It works on both DAT and Truckstop, and the same live RPM math shows up in Ask Numeo AI when you're chatting about a board.
  • Pair it with a factoring and credit check so a good rate isn't riding on a broker who won't pay, and add toll costs for the true cost to run the lane.
