Read factoring status labels

What the broker status letters mean across providers — Triumph's A/D/N/?, the common B/CF/NB pattern, and the No Buy fraud-risk flag.

Once you've connected your factoring company, each broker row shows a short status label. The letters come straight from your factor, so they vary a little by provider. Here's how to read the common ones.

Triumph

If you factor with Triumph, the labels are:

  • A — Approved
  • D — Denied
  • N — No Buy
  • ? — Unknown

Other providers

Many other factors use a shorter Buy / Call First / No Buy pattern:

  • B — Buy
  • CF — Call First
  • NB — No Buy

Because each factor sets its own labels, always read the status through the lens of the provider you connected.

The one to slow down on: No Buy

A No Buy (N or NB) is the flag that should stop you. It means your factor won't buy that broker's invoices — and some No Buy statuses carry explicit fraud language, along the lines of "No Buy — do not buy, fraud risk." Treat it as "don't book without checking further," not just "slow payer."

  • Buy / Approved — your factor is comfortable with this broker.
  • Call First — bookable, but confirm before you commit.
  • No Buy / Denied — stop and dig before you spend a call or an email.
  • Unknown — no read yet; lean on other signals.

Good to know

  • Status is only half the picture. Read it alongside the broker trust signals from DAT — verified owner, authority age, and the peer rating on the MC.
  • Seeing no label where you expect one? Your provider session may have expired — see factoring status isn't showing.
