Hazmat tolls and routing

Turn on hazmat auto-route and hazmat tolls so a load's route and toll math reflect hazmat restrictions.

2 min read

If you run hazmat, a standard route and standard toll rates will quietly mislead you — hazmat freight can't take every road, and the tolls aren't the same. Numeo Spot has two toggles that keep the route and toll math honest for hazmat loads.

Toll routes is a Pro feature — see the pricing page.

Hazmat auto-route

Turn on Hazmat auto-route and Spot routes around hazmat-restricted roads automatically. The route view over Google Maps reflects the path you can actually run, so the miles you're pricing are the miles you'll actually drive.

Hazmat tolls

Turn on Hazmat tolls and Spot applies hazmat toll rates instead of standard ones. Hazmat toll pricing is often higher, so this keeps the toll figure — and the true lane cost — accurate.

Why it matters

With both on, the route and the toll cost match how a hazmat load really runs. Read that alongside the profit calculator so the rate you book on already accounts for the restricted route and the higher tolls — not a car's version of the trip.

Good to know

  • These toggles live with toll routes, which is a Pro feature. On the Free plan you'll see an upgrade prompt where it would appear.
  • Leave both off for non-hazmat freight — standard routing and standard tolls are the right read there.
