Before AI Hub can search or send, it needs two things connected: at least one load-board source to search, and a mailbox to send broker email from. Here's how each one works and what to do when a connection drops.
Connect a source
Sources are the boards AI Hub searches. DAT is selected by default, and you need at least one connected source on a search. If nothing is selected, the board tells you:
Select at least one connected source to search.
Pick your sources per tab, then run the search.
Per-source city and state rules
Not every source can do a broad search. This is enforced as you build the search, so it's worth knowing up front:
- Only DAT supports multi-state and zone searches. If you search by state or zone, DAT is the source that returns results.
- Other sources need a specific origin city. These require a city and return nothing on a state-only search: SPOT, RXO, Emerge, Mode, and Arrive.
Hover a disabled source and you'll see why:
Only DAT supports multi-state / zone searches. Enter a specific city to include this source.
This source requires a specific origin city — state-only searches return no results.
The short version: searching a whole state or zone? That's DAT. Add a specific origin city to bring the other sources in.
Connect a sending mailbox
Working a broker thread — and sending the Book It email — needs a connected mailbox. Each tab sends from its own sender email, so the outreach and booking emails on that tab go out from the address you set for it.
Reconnect a source or mailbox
Connection health shows in a status banner and badge on the search sources. If a source or mailbox stops working, you'll see it flagged there — reconnect it from the banner and you're back in business.
Next
- Create a tab and run your first search.
