A source expired or won't connect

A broker or board turned amber or won't connect — reconnect from the dropdown, re-authenticate the extension, or re-run the login.

3 min read

Broker and board logins time out — it's normal. When a source turns amber or won't connect, the fix is usually a quick reconnect. Here's how to read the state and get it back.

Read the pill

Every source in the source bar is a pill in one of three states:

  • Connected — a blue checkbox. Working.
  • Expired — an amber warning. It was connected, but the login timed out.
  • Not connected — a plus-circle. Never set up.

The header keeps a count of "{n} disconnected broker(s)" when some have dropped. See reconnect expired sources for the full rundown.

Reconnect an expired source

  1. When you have disconnected brokers, a "Reconnect" dropdown appears in the source bar, listing each one with how long ago it dropped — "expired Xh/Xd ago".
  2. Pick the source to reconnect it. It returns to a blue check and its loads flow back in.

If it still won't connect

Good to know

  • Hover any pill to see its action — the tooltip reads Enable, Disable, Connect, or Reconnect.
  • If a lane looks light, scan the source bar first: an amber pill returns no loads until you reconnect it.
