FMCSA company lookup issues

The MC lookup can't find your company during onboarding — check the MC number or enter your DOT, company, and address by hand.

2 min read

During onboarding, Load Hub looks up your company from your MC number so you don't have to type your carrier details. If the lookup can't find you, you can still finish — just fill the fields in yourself.

How the lookup should work

On the "Company Information" step, you type your "MC Number" and Load Hub runs a live FMCSA lookup — you'll see "Searching FMCSA…" and matching carriers listed as "MC {number} · DOT {number} · City, ST". Pick yours and it fills in "Company Name", "DOT Number", "Phone", and "Address". See sign in and set up your company.

If it can't find your company

  • Double-check the MC number. A wrong digit is the most common cause. Re-type it and let the lookup run again.
  • Give it a moment. The lookup pulls live from FMCSA — if it's slow, pause before retyping.
  • Enter the details by hand. If your carrier still doesn't appear, fill in Company Name, DOT Number, Phone, and Address yourself, then continue. New authorities can take time to show in FMCSA's records, so manual entry is the right move if you're recently registered.

Good to know

  • The company identity you set here rides along on the broker emails you send from Load Hub, so it's worth getting the MC and DOT right — you can edit the fields before saving.
